Tips for a group

  • •Pick a short section: most groups walk part of a trail and turn back rather than doing the full Pemberton loop.
  • •Share the trail: expect mountain bikes and horses, and step aside when they pass.
  • •Be prepared: Carry more water than you think you need, start early, wear sturdy shoes and a hat, and turn back if anyone in the group is struggling.

Combine it with a Fountain Hills day trip, and for trails closer to the house see the Gateway Loop and hiking near North Scottsdale.

Where to stay

Paradise Reserve has six bedrooms for up to 16 guests, five of them king suites with their own bathroom, plus a pool and spa, a golf simulator, a putting green and a pickleball court. Events and parties are not permitted at the house, and quiet hours apply.
