Food & Nights Out

Private dining rooms in Scottsdale.

Private dining rooms in Scottsdale solve the main problem of group dining, which is that eight or more people cannot hold one conversation at a regular table. Many of the better restaurants have them, and several publish how many they seat. These are the numbers to start from.

What to ask before you book

  • •The minimum: most rooms come with a food and drink minimum that rises on weekends and in peak season. Ask for the figure, and whether tax and service count toward it.
  • •The menu: most large parties order from a set menu, so ask for it early and check for dietary needs.
  • •How private it is: some spaces are semi-private. Ask whether there are doors, and whether you will hear the main room.
  • •Screens and speeches: if it is a working dinner, ask about a screen and whether a toast can be heard.
  • •Cancellation: ask about the deposit and when it stops being refundable.

When a private room is not worth it

Under about ten people, a large round table can do the job without a minimum. See booking a group dinner in North Scottsdale. If most of the group is staying together, dinner at the house may be the better private room. Paradise Reserve has a formal dining room, a chef’s kitchen and an outdoor BBQ for guests staying there, and a private chef can handle the cooking. Outside guests and events are not permitted.
