Food & Nights Out

Things to do in Scottsdale at night.

Scottsdale changes character after dark. The heat drops, the desert goes quiet, and Old Town wakes up. Whether your group wants live music, a cocktail bar, a moonlit hike or a telescope, here are the best things to do in Scottsdale at night.

Back to the estate

Old Town: bars, music and late nights

  • •Rusty Spur Saloon. Billed as Scottsdale’s last cowboy saloon, with live country music seven nights a week. Open until midnight, and 1 AM on Friday and Saturday.
  • •The Beverly on Main. An upscale cocktail lounge on Main Street, open late (21+ after 8 PM).
  • •Dinner that turns into a night out. Toca Madera and The Mission, both in our restaurant guide, keep the energy going after dinner.
  • •Platform 18 (Phoenix). Worth the short drive: 90-minute cocktail sessions inside a vintage-style train car. Reserve ahead.

Planning a bachelor or bachelorette weekend? Our party guide covers pool clubs, bar crawls and where to book, with the house as your base.

Art and lights

  • •Scottsdale ArtWalk. Galleries in the Old Town arts district open their doors most Thursday evenings from 7 to 9 PM.
  • •Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of the West. Stays open until 8 PM on ArtWalk Thursdays from November to April.
  • •Canal Convergence (Nov 6 to 15, 2026). Ten free nights of light art and installations along the Scottsdale Waterfront.
  • •Las Noches de las Luminarias. The Desert Botanical Garden’s holiday tradition of luminaria-lit paths runs on select evenings from late November into December. Check dbg.org for 2026 dates.

The desert after dark

  • •Sunset and full-moon hikes at Pinnacle Peak Park. Free guided hikes of about an hour and a half on a moderate 1.5-mile round trip, with no registration needed.
  • •Astronomy evenings at Pinnacle Peak. Free stargazing nights with a NASA Solar System Ambassador on October 30, November 13 and December 4, 2026. Registration required.
  • •Private stargazing at the Four Seasons Troon North. An astronomer-led session on the resort lawn. Book at least 24 hours ahead.
  • •Dark skies nearby. Fountain Hills, just east of Scottsdale, is an International Dark Sky Community, with a dark-sky discovery center planned to open in 2027.

Late games and shows

  • •Topgolf Scottsdale. More than 100 climate-controlled bays and a rooftop terrace, open until 1 AM on Friday and Saturday. Up to six players per bay. Guests under 18 need a 21+ adult after 9 PM.
  • •Talking Stick Resort. Concerts and comedy, with most shows starting at 8 PM.

Or stay in

Some of the best nights happen at home. At Paradise Reserve the group can light the fire pit lounge, take a late swim in the heated pool and spa, or keep the golf competition going on the lit putting green and the golf simulator. Quiet hours apply, and the house is for the group staying there: no parties or events.
